A tour of your workspace

What each section of the sidebar is for, and where to find what you need.

Last updated

The sidebar groups help.ai by the job you're doing: your own work with AI, serving customers, building what customers use, and measuring the results.

Your workspace's name at the top of the sidebar opens Select Workspace, where you switch workspaces or create one. The menu with your name at the bottom has Account, Preferences and My Invitations, which belong to you rather than to this workspace.

Start from the Dashboard#

The Dashboard is a task-first summary:

  • AI workspace shows your current setup across agents, deployments and Library.
  • Customer outcomes covers the last 30 days (UTC): Visitor conversations, Helpful rate (the thumbs-up share of rated replies), Signals captured and Form submissions.
  • Needs attention counts Operator requests, Open Cases, Failed Library items and Integration issues, each linking to the place to deal with it.
  • Credits & billing shows your available balance and settled charges.
  • Start something has six shortcuts: New Conversation, Create Agent, Add deployment, Create Case, Create Library Item and Add integration.
  • Workspace resources links to Invite Members, Workspace Settings, Documentation and Support.

New workspaces also see a getting-started card with the recommended next step.

Jump anywhere#

Select Search... in the header, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), to open the command menu. Type a page or an action, such as "deploy" or "invite", and press Enter. See Find anything with the command menu for the two-key shortcuts.

Library or Content?#

Both hold knowledge, for different readers:

  • Library is what your AI agents read: files, crawled websites, text snippets and Q&A pairs.
  • Content is what your customers read: help articles, news, community posts and ideas, shown in the widget's tabs and on your portals.

AI Chat or AI Agents?#

AI Chat is a conversation you direct for your own work, with your files and Library as context. An AI agent is a saved role, with instructions, knowledge and tools, that you can deploy to customers or share with your team.

The Operator card in the sidebar tells help.ai you're available, so visitors who ask for a person hear that someone can answer. Open it and turn on Available for conversations. You stay available while the dashboard tab is open, even in the background, and go back to Offline automatically when you close it.
