# Review and export form submissions

> Find answers by deployment or visitor, and download them as CSV or Excel.

Every form a visitor submits or skips is kept with its answers and where it came from. Here's how to find and use them.

## Open submissions

In **Forms**, each form shows a **Submissions** button with the number of submitted forms. Skips aren't counted there. Select it to open the form's submissions. The list shows both, and a skipped form carries a **Skipped** badge.

## Find the right ones

- Filter by deployment, or keep **All deployments**.
- Select **View** to open a submission: its **Answers**, then **Context** with the **Trigger**, **Source**, **Conversation**, **Visitor** and **Deployment**.
- Each submission links to its conversation (**Open conversation**).
- To see one visitor's submissions, open the row menu and select **Same visitor**. **Clear filters** shows them all again.

A visitor has one submission per form in each conversation. If they submit again, or submit after skipping, that submission is updated.

## Download

Select **Download** and choose **CSV** or **Excel (XLSX)**. The download follows the filters you've applied. To download all of a form's submissions, use **Download responses (CSV)** or **Download responses (Excel)** in the form's menu in **Forms**. A download holds up to the newest 20,000 responses.

Each file starts with details about the submission, then has one column per question, headed by the question label:

| Column | What it holds |
| --- | --- |
| Submitted at | When the form was sent |
| Status | Submitted or Skipped |
| Country, Device, Browser, OS | The visitor's country, device type, browser and operating system |
| Trigger | What showed the form |
| Page URL | The page the visitor was on |
| Subject ID | The visitor's ID |
| Conversation ID | The conversation it belongs to |

Answers to questions you've since removed, or whose reference key changed, come last, headed by their reference key.

## Use the answers elsewhere

- Read submissions from your own systems with an API key. See [Create and manage API keys](https://support.help.ai/workspace-and-billing/create-and-manage-api-keys).
- A submitted form, not a skipped one, also updates the person's contact in **Contacts**. See [Understand Contacts and Signals](https://support.help.ai/inbox-and-cases/contacts-and-signals).
- **Analytics** → **Forms** shows submissions, skips and completion rate over time, by trigger, page, country, browser and device. See [Track form performance](https://support.help.ai/forms/track-form-performance).

Submission webhooks aren't available yet. Until then, use downloads or the API.

## Delete a submission

Open the row menu and select **Delete**, for example when someone asks you to remove their details. The answers are removed for good.

<Tip>
Write clear question labels. The label becomes the column header in every download.
