# Show charts and tables in replies

> Let agents and AI Chat answer with cards, tables and charts alongside text.

Some answers read better as a table, a chart or a card than as paragraphs: a plan comparison, an order summary, a trend over time. help.ai calls these visuals. You allow them per agent, and switch them on or off for your own chats.

## Allow visuals for an agent

1. In **AI Agents**, open the row's actions menu (⋯) and select **Edit**.
2. Under **Model**, turn on **Chat visuals** ("Allow cards, tables, and charts alongside text.").
3. Select **Save changes**.

**Chat visuals** is off for new agents. When it's on, the agent can add visuals to its replies for visitors on your deployments and in your own test chats.

## Visuals in your own chats

In **AI Chat**, open **Chat settings** below the message box and use **Visual replies** ("Charts, tables, layouts"). It's on by default. The line under the message box shows **Visuals: On** or **Visuals: Off**. Like your other chat settings, it's remembered in this browser for all your chats.

In a test chat with an agent whose **Chat visuals** is off, **Visual replies** is locked and reads **Turned off for this agent.**

## If a visual can't be shown

In the widget, a visual that can't be displayed is replaced by "This visual could not be displayed." The rest of the reply stays readable.

<Tip>
Before you allow visuals for customers, try a few questions that suit a table or chart in the deployment's **Preview**.
